Hi folks,

Apologies, but this is going to be a shorter newsletter than usual this week. Between a lot of pressure from work, and having to cope with the school summer holidays, my mental health has taken a bit of a battering over the last week or so. As a result, my general anxiety has gone through the roof, and I've found it difficult to concentrate on playing any particular game.

I've had quite a lot of mini-naps on the sofa though - silver linings and all that.

Behold! A game!

One of the few things I did manage to play was Ping Yao - First Chinese Banks. If you haven't heard of it before, I'm not surprised. It's a game about China, manufactured in China, and designed in China. It's been available for a few years in China, and Jing Studios (the publisher) made the decision to launch a Kickstarter for an English version a couple of years ago.

This was back when Punchboard was still really new, and after speaking to the publisher, they invited me onto a live stream to play it on TTS. I loved the game, backed the campaign, and after a lot of delays, it arrived last week.

The component quality is amazing, the silver ingots you can see in the photos below are really weighty and shiny. I'll be giving it a full review in due course, but for now, have a look at these.

Hopefully normal service will be resumed soon, and I won't be so uncharacteristically quiet everywhere. Thank you all for your support, and for reading my ramblings.

Adam
