Sadly, that's just me saying hello, not talking about the new Leder Games game of the same name. So what have I been up to in the last week or so? I've played some games, written a couple of reviews, and faced the quandary of "is it cold enough to wear jeans instead of shorts yet?" as September lands with a dull, grey thud.
I taught my son Root over the weekend. It took some cajoling to get him past his kneejerk reaction of 'all Dad's games are boring'. Once he played it, he loved it, and beat me! I reviewed it a little while back, which you can read here.
I also took my chance to make the most of some free time, and punched and played Ultimate Railroads. I picked it up at UKGE this year, and it's been sat on my shelf ever since.
If you're not familiar with it, it takes the original Russian Railroads games, and puts the expansions for Germany, USA, and Asia in the same box, along with some additional bits. It's a great game, a classic example of worker-placement with multiple routes to victory.
Podcast fame
JP from the excellent 'Whose Turn Is It Anyway?' podcast was kind enough to have me on as a guest a little while back. We talked about games, reviewing, likes and dislikes. It's a good listen, even if I say so myself. Check it out, and drop them a subscribe, it's well worth it.
