Yeah, yeah, I know. I missed a week.
Hello!
Yes, I missed a week. I've been on leave for a week, and got so busy doing family stuff and redecorating, that it completely slipped me by.
There has been some games-related fun going on, so why don't I run you through what I've been up to?
(Thrilling, isn't it?)
Games I played

This is The Comic Book Bubble, which is currently live on Kickstarter. It's from Scott Almes (of 'Tiny Epic' fame), and it's a game of manipulating prices and using powers. I've really enjoyed my plays so far, and the artwork is gorgeous.

Greedy Kingdoms was a whim purchase when I was out in town with my son. I saw Bruno's name on the box, and being a fan of his game's I thought it was a safe gamble. I turns out to be a great little two-player, head-to-head engine builder.

Brazil: Imperial is getting a bit of hype at the moment, no doubt fuelled by how difficult it's been to buy over here in the UK. I managed to get a copy, and had a learning play. First opinions are good. A middle-weight area-control euro with a decent amount of player interaction, and some great production values. I was really pleased to see a history book thrown in, just to give some context to what looks like a huge amount of whitewashing.
Social games
The wonderful folks at Big Potato Games sent me some more games to sample, and the biggest hit with family so far is Shoot for the Stars. It's essentially a trivia game, where you guess the answer to a question (the answer is always a number), and try to get as close to the correct answer, without going over.

The cutesy astro-meeples and cardboard spaceship are needless, but great fun, and kids especially enjoy moving the pieces around. I really enjoyed it, even though I was largely terrible at it. It even came out at a family barbecue, where seven of us played and had a great time.

New shelves!
Don't tell me you don't love the rush of sorting your games onto new shelves. I had that same pleasure this weekend past, and here are the fruits of my labour. See anything you like?

Until next time then folks, thanks for sticking around.
