A day late

...a buck short (writing the heading reminded me of Dammit, back when Blink182 were clean-cut youngsters.) Yes, I know, I'm late - again! Getting back to work and real life is a downer after the heady days of GridCon at the end of last week.

That's right, as you're no doubt already sick of hearing, I went to GridCon. Now, I'm not going to bore you with the details of it here, in a blow-by-blow account... not when I can just link you straight to it 😁.

GridCon 3 (2022) Convention Report - Punchboard GridCon is an annual board game convention held in the South-West of the UK. It just so happens that I a) live a couple of hours down the road from it, and b) am a Patreon supporter of the organiser, Paul Grogan, so there was no way I wasn't going back again this year.

Being serious for a moment though, I had the best time at GridCon, catching-up with old friends, making new ones, and just being around wonderful people. I can't wait for the next one.

Games

In last week's newsletter I told you I was doing a week of French games, and I finished that off with a review of a cracking flip-and-write from the Ganymede universe, Demeter (and its expansion).

Demeter + Autumn & Winter Expansion Review - Punchboardpunchboard.co.uk Demeter: flip-and-write? check. Dinosaurs? check. Space? check. Dinosaurs in space??? CHECK CHECK CHECK it out right now!

I have a decent backlog of games to cover, so you'll be seeing plenty of new reviews soon. In the meantime, I was contacted by a group publishing a new RPG book. The Gloaming Wild is a 5E survival-horror set of characters & campaigns which supplements the standard DnD ruleset.

This one caught my eye because it sounds so well implemented, and I know there are folks out there looking to run something more along the survival-horror side of things than straight fantasy.

Check out their Kickstarter campaign here. There are PDF and hardback options, and even a free mini-campaign to download straight from the campaign page. Try before you buy is rare in this hobby, so it's a really cool touch.

That's all folks

I don't have much more to tell you about... YET. I've got a very good giveaway coming very soon, so more about that when I know more.

Until then, thank you all again for your support and encouragement. And to those of you I met at GridCon, I can't wait to meet you all again very soon.

Adam
