Now with added logo and brand colours. Oooooh
Thank you!
I'm going to start things off a bit differently this week. Normally, I like to say my thank-yous at the bottom of my newsletters. However, after tripling my supporter numbers last week (from one to three - it still counts!), I just want to say a big, public "thank you" to Mark, Becky, and Gavin for joining.
If you haven't already seen it, I'm running my supporter membership through Kofi instead of Patreon, and I'm making sure it's extremely cheap, with levels of either £1 or £3 per month. You can find out more here - Punchboard Supporters Membership - and I'll be running some giveaways very soon, to say thank you.
Your support means the world to me, so thank you again ❤
Where does the time go?
October is disappearing like the Trick or Treat snacks my wife thinks are all in the cupboard. I blame gremlins 😇. I've had a few new games arrive in the post this week thanks to Hachette, AEG and GMT Games, so I'm looking forward to getting them played and to tell the world what I think.
My last convention for the year is Gridcon, down in my neck of the woods. For so long it's seemed like an age away, but here we are now, mere weeks to go, and I'm starting to get properly excited. I wonder how many of you I'll see there?
Games!
I've just published the first review of a game I got courtesy of my new partner, Kienda UK. Ark Nova is great, I really enjoy it. If you want to know why, clicky-clicky here:
Ark Nova Review - Punchboard — punchboard.co.uk Ark Nova is riding high in the BGG rankings, and outlived its hype. Is the praise justified, or is it just Terraforming Mars with animals?
The next game I chose from Kienda to cover is Obsession. It's another game which has had plenty of hype behind it, and having tried it briefly on BGA, I ordered it. I've only had a first play, but early indications are that it's good fun with a lot of decisions to make. Looking forward to playing again very soon.

Other stuff
I had a really interesting chat with one half of Format Games at this year's UK Games Expo. The other half is that Matt Edmondson off the radio. They landed a huge distribution deal with Asmodee for their party games, so I took some time to find out some more about them.
Industry Spotlight: Format Games - Punchboard — punchboard.co.uk Format Games are the brainchild of Radio's Matt Edmondson. I take a dive into what makes the guys tick, and where their games come from.
And finally, just a reminder that as readers of mine you can get a 5% discount off your first purchase over £60 from my retail partner, Kienda, by signing up through this link - https://kienda.co.uk/punchboard
